20. Become a Writer/Contributor
I started reading when I was in kindergarten. My grandparents from both sides are fond of reading so I think, I got it from them.
The first book that I have come to love was A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, and eventually, he became my favorite author. I have read most of his books and collected some of which I haven’t read yet up to now.
He was one of the reasons why I am a hopeless romantic. His work really influenced me, and when I was in grade school, I started keeping journals/diaries.
I have written mostly about my daily experiences until I was in high school. I started a blog right after college, and continued my journal online.
It was not until 2015 that I started to write poems and articles. When I turned 29, I decided to set up a WordPress blog. One of my works was then published in Thought Catalog on December 22, 2016.
I am still a newbie when it comes to writing but I am grateful that they’ve recognized my work and the feedback from the readers are really overwhelming. I know that I still have a long way to go to become like a “real writer” but I am thankful to Becca — a staff from Thought Catalog who helped me achieve my dream. This is an experience that I will never forget and for sure will hone me to be better.
