30. Visit Bali, Indonesia/Celebrate 30th in Bali
I never expected that I would be able to visit Bali before 30. It has been almost 2 weeks since I visited the country,y but it still feels like a dream.
Originally, I planned to go to Georgia or Armenia since it is near Dubai, and I only planned to take off from work for just a week. I really wanted to visit the beach; however, I felt like I couldn’t go to Bali alone.
And then one day, I talked to someone and agreed to visit Bali together, and the rest is history. 🙈
We planned the whole trip in less than two months, and I was stressed out until the day of the departure. Very GK—what’s new? 😅
First, my passport was expiring in May, so I had to renew it first. The earliest appointment I got was on February 19, and since it will take some time to get the new passport, I had to request an extension. For 1 month, I had sleepless nights, stressing over what if my extension request would not be granted. So, come February 19, I finished the process of the passport renewal; however, I still had to go to the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi to request the extension. The next day, I travelled for 2 hours. Imagine the stress that I was under? When I got there, it took me like 5 minutes maximum to get everything done! Gone are those sleepless nights just like that! Haha
So, there, I booked my round-trip Dubai to Singapore flight ticket, Singapore – Bali tickets and hotel reservations in Kuta, Ubud and Singapore.
My stress didn’t stop there,e though. I was so nervous regarding my UAE residence visa, which is expiring on March 19, 2017. Until I was in Singapore Immigration, I was anticipating that they would ask me about the visa, but they didn’t until I arrived in Bali. There were no questions regarding my visa! But can you imagine my face the whole time? 😂
Those 7 days in Bali were incomparable. It was one of the most unexpected things that ever happened to me. It wa,s and it still feels really like a dream.
I am grateful that I met you—I will never get tired of telling you that. I am happy that you were the last person I spent the last few days of my 20s with, and you were the first person I spent the first few days of my 30s with,h which is really a big deal to me. You are and will always be a part of my journey—be it as my partner, a friend or a memory in the future—we’ll never know what will happen.
Bali, thank you for making our first trip together a success and my 30th birthday a memorable one. We will definitely come back soon!
